One of the drivers reported the incident to GSA.
GSA interacting with Police explained to them that these trucks had gone through a number of Customs barriers with their stamps on the documents.
GSA further enquired to know if Police officers were supposed to be checking Customs papers? The Police responded affirmative, citing instances where Customs officers checked passenger buses.
The Police officer then passed the phone to his in-charge, who understood GSA's explanation but insisted that the drivers give them something.
GSA then connected the drivers with their focal person at the Police Head Quarters, whose intervention led to the release of the drivers.
