Two truck with registration numbers CF 8507 (NR) and BT 4706 (TG) were kept at Akanu border for more than 24 hours because there was issues regarding the issuance of Temporary Vehicle Importation or Laissez-passer. According to the Rep of CNUT, one of the drivers was asked to pay about eight thousand Ghana cedis for the TVI.

The CNUT Rep. reported the matter to GSA, Head Office. GSA Head Office liaised with their office at Akanu to take up the matter and resolve it.
GSA Head Office provided the Akanu Office with the telephone number as well as the trucks' details with.
Information from the Akanu office indicated that the Truck being "low bed trucks" fall under a diffwerent classification in the Customs System.
The Akanu office met the Regional Commander who, disclosed that there should not be any issue if the trucks and drivers' documents were valid.
After a short interaction with the valuation officer by the Akanu office, the drivers were directed to Aflao to have the issue resolved.
Few hours later, the Akanu Office reported to the Head Office that the issue was resolved and that the drivers were released to continue their journey.
