The driver's truck broke down on 14th October 2025 and he reported to the Techiman Customs barrier by submitting the goods documents. When the mechanic completed the repair works on the 21st October 2025, the driver went back to the Customs to retrieve his documents for the continuation of his journey.
The Customs requested the driver to pay GHS 1,300.00 before they would go and check on the truck.
- Status note
-
Driver was released.
- Progress update note
-
The driver reported to GSA. GSA probing further enquired to know if the Customs Officers went to check on the truck when the issue was reported. The driver replied with the negative.
Probing deeper, GSA realised that the driver’s document had expired before he reported to Customs.
GSA then had to plead on the driver’s behalf for Customs to consider him.
Customs agreed to this because of GSA’’s intervention.
