Complaint number: NTB-000-485
NTB Type: Other type: Police delay and extortion
Complaint: The truck's tyre blasted and damaged the part of the road. The Police came to the scene seized the drivers documents and requested for GH 5,000 supposedly for repair of the road.
Status note: Few minutes after GSA's discussion with the Police, the driver called to confirm his release.
Progress update note: The driver reported the incident to GSA.
GSA requested a video of the impact of the incident on the road. It was discovered by GSA that the effect was superficial.

Talking to the Officers, the Police claimed that they wanted to link the driver to service provider in charge of patching the road for the driver to pay them for the repair works.

After listening to the Police, GSA humbly instructed that the driver be allowed to continue his journey, justifying that the police has nothing to do with the construction of road.
