NTB Type: Other type: Delay and extortion by Customs
Complaint: The driver reported the breakdown of his truck on 24th July, 2025 as requested by the Customs laws. Upon finishing the repair works on 5th August, 2025, the driver went back to the Customs to retrieve his papers and proceed with the journey. Customs demanded that he paid GH 600.00 before they release the documents to him.
Status note: The driver was released without any payment.
Progress update note: When called, GSA enquired from Customs what warranted the demand of such amount from the driver. The Customs Officer who did not identify himself indicated that he wanted to check the changes made in their system and report to GSA accordingly.

Few minutes later, GSA called back to follow-up and was told that the driver was given his documents.

This was confirmed by the driver who specified that he did not pay any money.
