Mr. Aboubakar, the Rep. of CNUT reported to GSA the case of 10 trucks bound for Niger delayed at the port because Customs are demanding GH 3,000.00 as escort fee for each truck on Friday 4th/7/2025.
- Status note
-
Following up on 7/7/2025, GSA was told that the trucks were released on Saturday evening.
- Progress update note
-
GSA upon hearing this reported the case to the in-charge of Transit at the HQ. The latter was on leave. GSA proceeded and contacted the southern regional commander for the resolution.
On 5/7/2025 GSA pursued investigations and was told from the HQ that there hadn't been any request for escort for 10 trucks. GSA probed further and discovered that the trucks were loaded but there was a miscommunication between the agent and Customs.
