JAPTU reported to GSA that the international licenses of three Burkinabe drivers coming to Tema to take loaded truck back to their country were ceased by the Immigration officers at Nasia because the drivers refused to pay money.
- Progress update note
-
when reported, GSA staff at the Head Office liaised with their office at Tamale for reason of proximity.
The Officer at Tamale office suggested that they would meet with the Northern Regional Office for discussion and the release of the drivers' licenses either to GSA or to the drivers when they get to the Nasia barrier.
The following day the Tema office of GSA called the Head office to report that a check from their focal point at the northern regional command of immigration revealed that the matter was true.
He also added that the focal point assured that the drivers would be given their licenses when they reach the Nasia Immigration barrier. According to him the focal point would liaise with the Immigration's Noth-East regional command since the Nasia barrier is in that Region.
