The Police stopped about 10 trucks and kept them for more than 3 hours because the drivers were unwilling to pay GH 5.00.
- Status note
-
The Police claimed they were carrying out their routine check, but denied asking drivers for money.
GSA drew the Officers' attention on the directive issued by The IGP on ' operation clear the corridor' which required all officers along Ghana's transit corridor to desist from stopping the transit truck.
The Officers replied by saying the IGP's directive was just for trucks leaving the Ghana Ports to the landlocked countries.
GSA staff reiterated that the directive was for both legs of the journey.
