The driver got to the weigh bridge and was asked to climb and weigh. Accidentally, in the course of doing this the truck dragged the pad and caused a cable to tear.

The driver was released to go on the following day, that is 6th March, 2019, after the technician had checked the machine and confirmed that it was working.

Upon hearing this GSA staff spoke to the bridge operator who said he had reported the incidence to his bosses, therefore he was waiting for their response.
GSA staff later called Mr. BAYA Ishmael from Ghana Highway Authority who confirmed that the driver had to be retained till the bridge is repaired. He continued by saying that in case the machine didn't work, the driver would have to pay for the repair.
