Complaint

The driver called because they were about 27 trucks stopped at the border from the previous day. They gave their papers to customs who handed them to the goro boys. The goro boys were asking the drivers to pay 10 000F CFA per truck.  

Progress update note

Focal point asked to speak to customs but they refused to cooperate. Focal point later spoke with someone on site who claimed to be a clearing agent. The latter told BA staff that the commissioner, in his directive had only ordered unauthorized agents tp stop operating at the border. Lead focal point then contacted focal person from GRA-Customs and asked him to get into contact with the person in- charge at the border to resolve the issue.
Thank to the intervention of the person contacted and one Burkinabe Customs officer, the trucks were released. No money was paid.
